    fixdemo

    when I get to the point in the fixdemo programe it tells you to look for /bin/bash </dev/ttys3 > . . . I do not see this in my
    rc.sysinit file what I have is

    !/bin/bash 6
    #
    # /etc/rc.d/rc.sysinit - run once at boot time
    #

    #
    # Useful functions
    #

    function nthword () {
    n=0
    for foo in $* ; do
    if [ $n -eq $1 ]
    then
    echo $foo
    fi
    n=$(($n+1))
    done
    }

    function runme () {
    echo "Scanning for $1 repair scripts"
    for foo in /var/persist/*.$1 ; do

    I could be way off base here...

    I don't think that fixdemo is needed anymore. Wasn't it for an older version of pitou that didn't do nice things to a tivo?

    I thought that the fixdemo program was used for you do not have to call up, and it will give you life time subscription. I could be wrong here ?

    Oh yeah, you're wrong.

    Look for something called fixsub for that. Better yet, pay for your TiVo service if you can. TiVo is a great product.
