Slow as hell after 25xtreme install

I installed 25xtreme, touched the sub file, and ever since my Hughes DTivo has been slow as hell changing channels and reacting to commands from my remote. I have tried other remotes, it seems to take the command but just reacts really slow. I hear the popping sound from the tivo, but the reaction after that can take forever. I read about slow remotes, but could there be something else???

    Thanks for reading this!!!

Are you 'unhiding' any local channels using mvchannels.tcl? That is one of the ways that cpu cycles are chewed up.

    MVChannels

I have experienced a great slowdown after enabling the MVChannels. I have not edited the channels.dat, so it appears that I am getting all locals from everywhere. Will editing this file to provide me with only my local 4 stations help this situation at all.

I personally only want my locals, I have no need / desire to have any others.....thanks for any help

Yes I did put the mvchannels in there, maybe that is the problem!?!?

I too only want my locals, but I am using 3M and activation when needed. Is there any advice on fixing this??

    Thanks for a quick response.

thehecklerj: I answered your question in the thread you started.
    Fatty:

I am certain mvchannels is the cause of the slowness. Comment it out from running in the rc.sysinit and reboot. Let the system sit for a bout 5 minutes. Test it. Is it slow? Probably not.

If you want ONLY your locals, there is no need to be running mvhcannels at all. The two ways you describe the get video can be tweaked to ensure you get your locals. However, we do not discuss the access card side on this forum.

To 'hide' all the locals you have uncovered. Simply run ./mvchannels.tcl reset and then reboot.
