    dsr models

    Can someone tell me the difference between a dsr6000 and a dsr6000R ?? Thanks

    I don't think that there is a difference. I have two brand new DSR6000R's and they work perfectly. I think that when they first came out someone was claiming that they were remanufactured, or had a problem with the Optical Output, but it was untrue. Some of the units had audio problems with specific dolby digital systems, but I think it was just as much the problem with the audio system as the DSR. If you buy it brand new, and there is no sticker saying that it was remanufactured, then it wasn't. Also, my Dolby Digital works great!

    Does your 6000R have a black cabinet or wood grained? That may be the diff between the 2.

    Cabinet? My tivo is Black.

    P.S. The only option when you subscribe on the direct tv website is the 6000R. Maybe the 6000 doesn't even exist, and people just shorten the name?
