    Stream from Tivo to Tivo

Has any one been able to stream from 1 Tivo to another, and how about a common Now Playing List with info from two Tivo's

I have read all the threads on streaming but have not seen anything.

    Any ideas?

The major issue is importing the video into tivo. ele2pestriple (which is included on every tivo) does it, but the header has to be specialy formatted, else it doesn't work and tivo reboots on you. Somebody on AVS wrote a program that automaticaly converts mpeg file headers to be imported, but won't release it for obvious reasons.

An mpeg guru oughta be able to figure it out though.

If the file(s) associated with a video recorded on one tivo are placed on the other in the proper place and the proper fixups were done in the now playing list, would there be a video compatibility probem since there would be no formatting issues, or are the files somehow branded in a header that identifies it to the box on which it was recorded? Could someone explain the pitfalls involved in copying or moving the program files themselves from one tiivo to another without consideration of viewing options on a foreign device?

Actually if you want to stream between machines with no control during playback, you should be able to do that with netcat. Use mfs_export on one machine piped into 'nc' pointed to 'nc' on the other machine which is piped into vsplit. vsplit output needs to be pointed to mpeg devices. THe output machine would have to be a standalone machine.
