Does the 30 second skip also work on the SA Tivo's?

Yes, the 30 sec skip works on stand alones. S-P-S-3-0-S. Best of all, in 3.0 s/w it works without backdoors enabled.

it's always worked without backdoors enabled in 2.5.x, too... for me, at least...

perhaps this has been asked before, but 20 minutes of searching did not reveal it.

Is there any way to make the s-p-s-3-0-s 30-second skip mode the default?
