Bash prompt gone after step 5. with Xtreme upgrade

I had not been using my DSR6000 for a few months and pulled it out, decided to run Kraven's upgrade for Xtreme before I put it back in the stream. Opened TerraTermPro and got the bash prompt as usual, ran thru some of the directories, just to get use to it again, transfered 'upgrade.tar.gz' using Zmodem, it loaded in the cd / directory as UPGRADE_.GZ so I had to modify some of Kravens commands.
    1)transfer got bash again
    2) rm ran OK got bash again
    3) rm ran OK got bash again
    4) gzip -d UPGRADE_.GZ <enter> got bash again
    5)cpio -i -H tar -d -F UPGRADE_ <enter>
Double checked for files not removed
    6) /tvbin/reboot <enter>
ran for about 3 min. the ? came up left it for 10 min.
and still no bash try keyborad, any key pressed came up as a ? or 9 or B
    Rebooted TIVO and TerraPro
No bash, 9 comes up after about 30 seconds

Should I reload Xtreme or is this recoverable?

OK this is odd but I was running everything at 9600baud always have.
I switched to 115200baud and the key board started to show the letters I was typing not just 9, B or ?, typed in cd / and now have my Bash prompt back ????

Well the switch in baud rate got me back in and I finished running Kravens upgrade, everything seems to be back up and running, time will tell.

Kraven's update sets the baud rate to 115K.

I think that might be a good revision to add at the begining of the read-me
