    tystudio to DVD+R linux only

    NO Windows

I'm not a zealot or anything just prefer using linux and creating all in one scripts.

Here are the steps I have attempted and the ensuing results.

Downloaded Cedric the Entertainer Presents.ty using tystudio b2.

Cut from start to 1st skit, cut from end of 1st skit to end (about 5 mins of video)

    Processed as Video to: DVD
    Audio to: 48000 (DVD)
    Saved as cedric.mpg

    Played in Mplayer looks good.

Start putting togther dvd structure These instructions taken from
    http://www.linuxgazette.com/issue83/stoddard.html

    mkdir -p dvd/VIDEO_TS

    tocgen > dvd/VIDEO_TS/VIDEO_TS.IFO

error > Must pass in VIDEO_TS directory as a parameter

This error always occurs but VIDEO_TS.IFO is created (empty file)

    cp cedric.mpg dvd/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB
    chmod u+w dvd/VIDEO_TS/*.VOB

    ifogen -f dvd/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB > dvd/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_0.IFO

    (cd dvd/VIDEO_TS; for i in *.IFO; do cp $i `basename $i .IFO`.BUP; done)

    the ifogen command segfaults
WARN: Skipping sector, waiting for first VOBU... < this error streams for several screens

    -rw------- 1 root root 36302848 Apr 6 12:34 VTS_01_1.VOB

    The next step should be

    mkisofs -dvd-video -udf -o dvd.iso dvd/
which produces this error which does not suprise me based on previous errors

mkisofs: Success. Faild to read VIDEO_TS.IFO
mkisofs: Can't open VMG info for 'dvd/'.
mkisofs: Unable to make a DVD-Video image.

There an iso there but useless

Tried burn to dvd+rw for testing

    growisofs -Z /dev/sr1=dvd.iso

    Useless as I suspected

I would apreciate some pointers to where I am failing in this process.

Try dvdauthor from dvdauthor.sf.net. Much easier. Also is your .mpg being multiplexed as a DVD video?
