I added the following code to /hack/bin/xPlusz/xPlusz.tcl at line 3323:

I do not know if it is good code, but it seems to work. Perhaps it would be a good addition to the next version of xPlusz. If you enter command #69 it will display the current MarketId. If you enter #69,<mid>, it will change the MarketId to <mid> and reboot. When the machine comes back up it has the new locals.

Keep in mind your access card must support those locals. Except for Columbus, OH, which straddles the transponders of Detroit and Cincinnati, access cards only enable the display of locals on one transponder. You would need to hack the card to do otherwise.

Just curious -- has anyone w/ 2.5 lost their locals in the past week?

Also, is anyone running 2.5 and still receiving locals? Has anyone lost their locals and not upgraded to 2.5.2 to get them back?

For what it is worth, I lost my locals (running 2.5) and have not yet upgraded to get them back. The NATIONAL feeds in the 380s are generally good enough for me. Have not had time to think about upgrade yet, will probably do it soon, maybe add a second hard drive too.

my whole system crashed. reimaged w/2.5, upgraded w/2.5.2. now my locals guide is populated appropriately, but when i tune in, i get "channel not avalable".....it was available yesterday????

Do NOT run mvchannels.tcl anymore. It removes information in the database such as GuideInclusionExpr and ConditionalDescriptorExpr that the Tivo seems to now need to operate properly. This means do NOT run #60,x either, or any other mvchannels-type commands. The era of mvchannels.tcl is over, and someone will have to find another way to get multiple locals.

The ONLY way to get locals with data is to change the MarketId to be the same as what is on the access card and reboot. Period.

You can change to a MarketId to one that is different than that access card, but the access card will change it back in a couple of hours. To keep that market you would have to hack the card and block the commands that the card uses to change the MarketId. (That is not discussed here.)

I posted this in another thread. I do not know if all of them are correct. I just sorted the list of TV markets in alphabetical order and fudged a few lines based on the market id's that I knew. The rest of them should not be off by more than 1. If nothing else, it will give people an idea of what to try.

as stated before, was getting cleveland locals w/2.5.2 The system crashed, had to reimage w/2.5, then upgraded to 2.5.2. I ran midupdate.tcl 43, then #60,4. The guide for cleveland locals shows up appropriately, however, when I tune in, I get "Channel not availabe". I am only trying to get the single market, not multiples. It's deffinately a DTivo thing because my card will get the Cleve locals on a 4th gen. receiver. Also my "test" card will not get locals on the DTivo either.

Gregg, you have to do a Clear Program Guide and ToDo List.

On your remote, press the TiVo Button, select Messages and Setup, then System Reset, then Clear Program Data & To Do List and follow the on screen prompts.

This will clear your season passes too, but as you said you just reimaged so this should be no big deal.
