    need help with smbmount

so i did get smbfs-2.0.1.o to load (ignoring the versioning error) on my 3.1.0 dtivo.

but the smbmount command is giving me a "device or resource busy" error

i'm typing this as the command:

    # smbmount //192.168.1.100/music /srvr_mt -U tivo -P tivo

192.168.1.100 is my server and /music is a share i have on that server

/srvr_mt is an empty directory i created on my tivo

and i created an account tivo with a password of tivo on my server to connect to

please help if you can, i'm sure there is a common mistake i'm missing but i'm very new to the whole "mounting" protocol

    thanks

    smbmount //trash/CDRIVE /mnt/windows/ -I 192.168.3.2 -P welcome

above is the command I've used in the past.

trash is the name of my windows box
    CDRIVE is the share
/mnt/windows is the area on the tivo
192.168.3.2 is the IP address of my windows box

hope this helps. most people don't have too much luck w/ samba. It disconnects a lot. you may want to look into an nfs solution.

smbmount 'succeeds' but dir is empty

    Sony SVR-2000 running 3.0
    smbfs-2.0.1.o

    Usage:
    insmod -f /lib/smbfs-2.0.1.o
    mkdir /var/hack/mp3
    smbmount //cartman/mp3 /var/hack/mp3 -I 192.168.1.5 -U tivo -P tivo

I get the expected kernel mismatch on the insmod.
smbmount seems to work - at least I don't get any errors.
When I try to do an ls of the mounted directory, the first time it takes almost 1 minute and returns an empty directory.
    (none):/var/hack$dir mp3
    total 3
    drwxr-xr-x 1 0 0 512 Jan 1 1970 .
    drwxr-xr-x 16 0 0 2048 Jun 15 05:51 ..

I know TiVo can get to my pc
    (none):/var/hack$ping 192.168.1.5
    PING 192.168.1.5 (192.168.1.5): 56 data bytes

    64 bytes from 192.168.1.5: icmp_seq=1 ttl=128 time=0.620 ms

Is there anything obvious that I am missing?
