    LNBP13SP chip replacement?

I've got Two UTV's that need the LNBP13SP chip replaced. Just wondering if anyone has any tips for desoldering the heatsink portion of the chip.

I tried heating the heatsink with a 15 watt iron for about 2 min and that didn't work.. Then I tried using a butane iron with a soldering tip to see if I could get the heatsink a little hotter and that didn't do any good either.

    TIA.

I finally got mine off after I put a bunch of flux around it... Just have to keep my fingers crossed that it actually fixes the problem.

    Thanks anyway

Yes, I found them also but a $500 minimum order is a bit steep for me

I have an old system here that on the LNBP13SP chips do not have the resistors soldered on the both chips as my other unit has. Could this be the cause of too much current going through the chip and maybe frying it? This UTV unit keeps giving me searching for satellite.

flyerman, I have had both and they both lost their LNBP13's...

Do you have a multiswitch without an external power supply?

Until Sony and Andrews Elect. gets themselves straightened out I don't know where you can get them.... unless you want to buy bulk.

Once again you are another casualty with a IRD powered multiswitch...I have lost three UTV's with one and since I have got rid of it (straight from dual LNB) I have had 0 problems.

My opinion it is the IRD powered multiswitches that are to blame....
