Is there anyway to remove the invalid card window to watch recorded shows on a dsr6000 with no subscription without the blue bar on the entire time?

You've tried the credit cards, NG. So it reads the contacts. What's available, in the hundreds of thousands. Useless, worthless, probably lying around the house, or available from someone who has one, probably for the price of a postage stamp?
edited to add: now that you've got it, consider whether you want to state it explicitly. Makes it just a little easier for Mr. Dave to pick up and block the loophole. Maybe 1 in 1000 chance, but why take it when what's already been said is clear and may escape casual search.

I dont want to go into the hacking aspects since its not allowed..

i dont know what all the xplusz commands do.. i thought one of them might shut if off..
I have no idea what
SMBFS
NFS
NOSDD
FIXDEMO

I thought one of those might do it.... but probably not..

xPlusz won't do what you want. Have you tried an H card?
If you have a bash prompt, you can do the following. Start the playback, and remove the access card (leave it out). Shortly, a message will appear that says "Please insert your access card...". When that appears, at the bash prompt, type:Originally posted by brothenberg

echo | text2osd -transbg
This will clear any nags. If you go back to the TiVo central menu, and start another playback, the message will reappear and you'll have to do it again, but it will last the duration of the playback. I haven't done this since version 2.5.0, so the message may reappear more frequently on newer versions, but it's worth a try! You could also write a looping script that recalls that command every second or so until you exit the script...

Activation for what?
Just want a simple answer.. can you turn off the blue banner to watch shows on a box with no card in it....
I've tried them before, and it doesn't work. Unfortunately, it quickly comes up with some message to the effect of 'expired access card' (I forget the particulars).Originally posted by superzap

However, the trick I recommended earlier (using text2osd) does work (or at least, it did for me when I last tried it).
is there a brief description for the commands i listed?Originally posted by superzap
