9- Short comment on report.
HDMI and component video outputs; this is a "universal" player in that it is supposed to play back all disc formats including SACD and DVD-Audio discs (I haven't had a chance to test these capabilities yet as I currently do not own any such discs). This is a high-end player ($2100.00 list; I paid about $1650) and probably not for the average person unless you are an avid home theater enthusiast. I've also tried my TyDVDs on some of the high-end Pioneers (47ai) and Integra/Onkyo players (I forget the model Nos.) and they appeared to work fine. The video output of the 9500 has to be seen to be truly appreciated. It's as close to Hi-Def as you will see from a DVD, it really is that good. I use it in conjunction with a Hitachi 60VS810 60" LCD HD RPTV. I've gotten to the point where I won't feed it anything but honest to goodness topnotch DVDs, which is why I just joined NetFlix. With the 3-at-once plan I get about six DVDs per week that I rip to my hard drive and copy to DVD-RW discs for viewing at my leisure. The TyDVDs in my archive never looked as good on my old Mitsubishi RPTV and Sony 715 player.
