DSR6000 - No Audio

I've read and read until my eyes have blead but cannot find anything relating to the problem I am having.

I have a DSR6000 that powers up with no problem but has no audio and the video is not smooth. I thought that maybe it was the hard drive so I put in a new hard drive and did the xtreme upgrade. Same result - no audio and the video is not smooth.

I bought this unit off of eBay - not a scratch on the case and the warranty tag was in place. From the outside it looks like a good unit.

I get the audio sound effects when changing menu items with the remote but that is all.

I am wondering if the tuner part of this unit is N.G.
