    U5_151-hacked.mfs question....

    Step 1

I restored image to hd with

    mfstool restore -s 127 -xzpi

    After restoring image i

    genromfs -f /romfs.img -d img/

    dd if=/romfs.img of=/dev/hdc14 bs=1024 count=1

that returned 1 record in and 1 record out

    Step 2

Installed drive in DTIVO series 2 and went through the setup

    Step 3

Removed drive and put back in pc

    bootpage -P "root=/dev/hda7 BASH_ENV=\`mount\$IFS-n\$IFS/dev/hda16\$IFS/mnt;echo\$IFS/mnt/hacks\`" -C /dev/hdc

Yesterday, I got bash and was messing around and lost it. So I tried to retrace my steps but I can't seem to find it again.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated!!!!

    Thanks,

    JQ

I don't have a hacked prom. That is what the killinitrd is use with. It will not work with a unhacked prom. According to Mr Black.

you are using 14 in your romfs dd line, but 16 in your bash_env line. which is it...they should be the same

killinitrd is only for hacked proms and chain loaded kernels via monte.
