    Question DTivo DSR708 Hack????

Has anyone made an attempt to hack the Phillips DSR708 80GB DTivo unit with any of the methods used to hack the DSR7000?....I have had trouble booting the unit after replacing the up to date kernel with the old one (using BASH_ENV).

I used sleepers ISO script on mine, it worked fine. Just need to do some additional hacks that I have yet to get working. But was able to get a bash prompt and all hacks that came with the sleeper iso seemed to work fine.

Use sleepers script and do the monte... makes life easier, then you have to manually install any other hacks you might want. I have gotten mine "fully" working.

The real question is why pay all the extra for the 80 gig stock drive?
Far as i have seen they get $99 for DSR7000
    And $249 for the DSR708
    I know i can get a 100 gig drive cheaper than $150
Can get a 200 gig for that.

Very true, if mine wasn't bought for me as a gift, I wouldn't own it... i dont see a big difference between the 7000 and the 708. I ended up putting a 120gb hd in it anyway.
