Unhappy Shows longer than 1 hour failing with mplayer

I recently setup my SRV-2000 (series 1) to transfer movies to my laptop (P4-2Ghz, 512MB, NTFS, XP Professional, 10 GB free space).

    Got TivoWeb installed.

When I use MFS Stream within TivoWeb to d/l a show, it only works for shows 1 hour or less in length. Any show that is longer aborts with a zero-byte file on the PC.

I d/l and installed mfs_ftp and was able to transfer 2 different 2-hour shows. However each show aborted after playing about 1 hour 6 minutes, which I'm assuming is somewhere close to 2 GB into the file.

Is there a problem with longer shows with mplayer, or do I need a patch?

Why is MFS Stream in Tivoweb having problems with longer shows?

    HELP!

I think that's a limitation of the linux emulator thingy that the Windows version of mplayer runs in. Even more annoying in the UK where you hit the 2Gb limit at about 50 mins! The Linux mplayer has no such limit.

I switched to using the TyShow WMP plug in instead on my Windows box.

    Thanks a lot!

    That works great!

And it is nice that it is integrated into WMP, which is what I usually use to watch all my moves from SnapStream.
