running out of space on primary filesystem

I'm not sure where to start looking. I haven't added anything. any ideas of things to free up or some how make space.

Filesystem Type Size Used Avail Capacity Mounted on
    /dev/hda4 ext2 124M 124M 0 100% /
    /dev/hda9 ext2 124M 18M 99M 15% /var

    tivo:/var/tmp$ df
Filesystem 1024-blocks Used Available Capacity Mounted on
    /dev/hda4 126911 126783 0 100% /
    /dev/hda9 126911 18575 101783 15% /var
    tivo:/var/tmp$

    here is what I have.

    try this

Copy and paste from another thread in which Jeboo gave me the following command.
    e2fsck -y /dev/hda4
    e2fsck -y /dev/hda4

If it warns you about being mounted, choose yes. When it runs, if you see a bunch of console output, thats a good sign
    e2fsck -y /dev/hda4
    e2fsck -y /dev/hda9

    /dev/hda9 126911 76871 43487 64% /var

Is there anyway to increase the space of the mounted filesystems to something 2x or maybe even 3x there current size?

    e2fsck = ext2 file system check

You can think of it as the linux version of scandisk.
