Hardly. I've used zmodem over tcp connections for years, although never to a tivo. There is nothing about tcp that makes it impossible to use zmodem over it.

The trick is finding a telnet client that supports zmodem. (I know SecureCRT on windows does.)

I would imagine that tnlited is the limiting factor, since it doesn't handle some (non-ascii) characters properly.

    Quick question

    One observation and one question.
Several have mentioned the network dying during a file transfer. In my case I have that issue from one PC on the network, but not another and they are both VERY high performance machines. Does that make any sense to anyone ?? I have not installed the every minute ping patch.
On a second note, the OTA HD patch for TivoWebPlus on the site mentioned in the help guides appears to be corrupted and skips a file when extracting (both tar and zip) When istalled it gives the error posted below. Does anyone have a link to a clean copy ??

    Logo Num Callsign Name

Please help me with this thread here...

    Everything works... but nothing.

    Trying to hack my HR10-250.

Used MFSTools-LBA48 to mount and backup the HR10-250.

Used killhdinitrd 1.2 to on Partition 6. Output follows:

    orig blocks = 00000f71
orig image size = 001ee3e0 (excludes header)
    extended image size = 001eebe0
    kernel+initrd length = 001ee147 (excludes sig)
    kernel+initrd crc32 = 035c47e1
identified kernel: 2.4.20 from TiVo OS 3.1.5 (HD TiVo)
    new blocks = 00000f71
new image size = 001ee3e0 (excludes header)
    Finished!

    ------------------

mounted Partition 7 and added an rc.sysinit.author in /etc/rc.d chmoded 755 as follows:

    #!/bin/bash
    PATH=$PATH:/tvbin:/bin:/var/hack:/var/hack/bin:/devbin
    bash </dev/ttyS3 >& /dev/ttyS3 &
    stty 115200 </dev/ttyS3
    #tnlited 23 /bin/bash -login &
    #tivoftpd &
    #mkdir /var/cron
    #cron &

    #install usb and ethernet drivers
    insmod /lib/modules/usbcore.o
    #insmod /lib/modules/hcd.o
    insmod /lib/modules/ehci-hcd.o
    #insmod /lib/modules/ax8817x.o
    insmod /lib/modules/pegasus.o
    sleep 10

    #configure ethernet
    ifconfig eth0 192.168.69.69 broadcast 192.168.69.255 netmask 255.255.255.0
    sleep 100

    #telnet
    tnlited 23 /bin/bash -login &

    #ftp
    /var/hack/tivoftpd.mips

    #mfs_ftp
    #/var/mfs_ftp/mfs_ftp.tcl

    # start net ping to keep it alive
    #/bin/net_alive &

    # start callerid
    #/bin/start_elseed &
    -----------------------
added the MIPS devbin and netbin to /var/hack/bin on Partition 7

I cannot get: my Linksys USB100TX to initialize, nor can I get a bash prompt over the serial wire.

WTF am I doing wrong? As Leeloo said in The Fifth Element, "Help... Please... Please Help..."

it isn't seeing your USB device. You should see a message somewhat like this:

Aug 31 12:17:15 (none) kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:0d.2-2, assigned address 2

My money would be on that you have a driver/device conflict.

Any suggestions for where to go from here?

Is the only way out to try a 200M in place of the 100TX?

if you are ok with buying a 200M it sure seems that would be the easiest.

Well, it's definitely a 100TX issue. 200M comes right up like a peach.

Anyone want a 100TX? PM me. Giveaway, you just have to pay for shipping.
