    RCA RCU810 or RCU810B JP1 remote $9.95

This item is in MCM's current flyer (prices effective 8/30 through 10/22, catalog code JA0904). Somehow they managed to reassign the remote's part number (58-8890) to a printer cable, but you can still order it through an "artificial" link:

    http://mcm.newark.com/NewarkWebComme...890&quantity=1

    JP1 info: http://www.hifi-remote.com/jp1/

There is also another JP1 remote for sale at Radio Shack for $14.99 (see fatwallet).

You may need to solder on the 6-pin header by hand.

Ad says RCU810B, but they ship RCU81A

I went for this deal. The ad says it's an RCU810B, and that's what the package that they sent says, but it's only a RCU810A. Open the battery cover & ther's no JP1 connector & there's a label that says RCU810A.

I called MCM & they said they'd send out the correct unit, and they didn't even make me send the first one back. The second unit that arrived was the same RCU810A. Perhaps this is why they're surplus & cheap.

I've called once again & they said they'd check what's in the warehouse. I may end up with 2 of these for free. I'll just have to solder in my own connector.

Hmm...I went for this deal as well and I got the B version, I've already installed the jp1 port and everything.

So how can you tell the differance between an 810a and an 810b?

I just received mine, and the packaging / manual both say 810b, but the sticker on the inside of the battery cover says 810a.

The most recent MCM sales flyer I got lists these for $8.99.

I got an 810-A as well.
