3.1.0.c2 Essential Hacks

I am really confused about all the different procedures on how to hack my Sony SAT-T60. There is soo much old information. I had it hacked until the last round of updates to 3.1.0.c2 from Tivo. Can we create a list of essential hacks for 3.1.0.c2? If we can put the version and possibly a link to the hack, that would be great.

I used to have all the streaming working (mostly) to my xbox's and tv's.

I will start with what I have done so far. Thank you to everyone in the forums for all this information.

1. tivoapp hacks - All from Alarmtronics script - Thanks!.

no offense, but this information is largely useless. specifically, you are suggesting people blindly apply these patches, not even noting which patch does what.

Woops, you're right - i should have mentioned what they do. I will edit them.

I guess if this thread dies, then you are right about being useless. I would find it helpful though. I am just trying to consolidate current information and procedures.

BTW you need to do this first:
Make sure your root partition is writable. e.g.

 
mount -o remount,rw /

Make a backup copy of /tvbin/tivoapp e.g.

 
cp /tvbin/tivoapp /tvbin/tivoapp.orig

Do this number (assuming that tivoapp.orig is your backup):

 
cd /tvbin
mv tivoapp tivoapp.tmp
cp tivoapp.orig tivoapp
chmod 755 tivoapp

Then of course

 mount -o remount,ro /

and

 restart

If you do the tivoapp hack, what other packages should be put on.

hack.zip to get basic linux commands like ls? Is there a better package?

I also install ccxstream for XBOX Media Center video streaming.

vserver for streaming to pc.

tserver to extract to pc. This is in the TyTools package listed above.

I also had problem with tivoftpd hanging. This new version seems more reliable.
