27 Problems using SMB on the TIVO

I am havng some problems using the smbmount command. First, I load the SMB driver as follows:

    insmod -f /tivonet/modules/smbfs-2.0.1.o 1> /dev/null

This worked with no problems. I then try and mount my Hard Drive on my WinME machine. The machine name is "PIII800" and the mount name is "DDRIVE" and no password (I'm behind a firewall). With the following command, I get this error:

    bash-2.02# /tivonet/bin/smbmount //Piii800/DDRIVE /mnt -n
    mount error: Invalid argument
Please look at smbmount's manual page for possible reasons

My WinME machine is logged in with username "bblank". I also tried the following command without success.

    bash-2.02# /tivonet/bin/smbmount //Piii800/DDRIVE /mnt -n -U bblank
    mount error: Invalid argument
Please look at smbmount's manual page for possible reasons

Thanks in advance for your help.

If you want to send me email, place the word "TIVO" in the subject otherwise it will never get it.

    ./smbmount /TargetIP/TargetDrive /mnt/ -I TargetIP -U TargetUser -D TargetWorkgroup

    Your supply:

    TargetIP
    TargetDrive
    TargetUser
    TargetWorkGroup

The system will ask you for a password. I have only tried this with a samba server.

On my tivos I get one shot at smbmount. If the mount fails I have to reboot to get it to work, otherwise even the correct syntax will fail.
