    What I can't seem to understand is why my Tivo is trying to phone home after I have already run fakecall.tcl ? Do I need to disable calling out somehow. I usually run fakecall every couple days......

    Try setting it up to run daily.

    Or, using a little trick brought to my attention by cojonesdetoro and rc3105, you can source things in tivowebplus, by building an .itcl file that basically ping_pongs the program you're trying to run.

    For my own uses, I wrote a module I called cronmodule.itcl (call it whatever you want), and placed it in the /tivowebplus/modules directory, then did a quick reload. That's it.

    Try this if you like:
    Code:
    #cronmodule.itcl

    proc cronmodule30 { } {
            #puts stdout "Running items sourced in cronmodules.itcl - 30"
                    #insert calls for 30 minute run here
                    exec /hacks/TivoTitle99a.tcl -c -d >> /var/log/TivoTitle.log
                            after 1800000 cronmodule30
            }

    proc cronmoduleDay { } {
            #puts stdout "Running items sourced in cronmodules.itcl - Day"
                    #insert calls for Daily run here
            exec /hacks/fakecall.tcl >> /var/log/fakecall.log
                            after 86400000 cronmoduleDay
            }

    cronmodule30
    cronmoduleDay
    YMMV

    I changed it up just a touch for my system. I now see the 'fakecall.log' in logs directory. Really very nifty JJ. I like this one even better than the 'set default until I delete' script !! Here's my changes:

    #cronmodule.itcl

    proc cronmoduleDay { } {
    #puts stdout "Running items sourced in cronmodules.itcl - Day"
    #insert calls for Daily run here
    exec /busybox/fakecall.tcl >> /var/log/fakecall.log
    after 86400000 cronmoduleDay
    }

    cronmoduleDay

    Glad it works for you:

    For reference purposes, you can learn more about the technique brought to light by rc3105 and originally tested by cojonesdetoro in this thread.

    Thank You for the link.

    There should be a thread called 'useful scripts' in the Files section. Where people can contribute/benefit from all these very useful scripts. As it is now, you sort of stumble across good scripts here and there. It could be a 'use at your own risk' thread, with no support........ Just a thought.
