    Lightbulb Had a thought

    For those who "test".
    On a DirecTivo, and probably a SA as well, a problem with getting updates is obviously the phone cord and the logs.
    Certain logs (tivoLog.prv) track EVERYTHING you do and what you watch.
    I don't know if this would work but, it seems that /var is the only partition that is mounted RW. What if you remounted it to RO under normal "testing" the mounted it RW for the daily call say once every 2 or 3 weeks then remounted it RO again.

    The question is would the tivo still run or is the guide data stored here along with the wishlists and season passes and stuff?


    Anybody tried this? Any thoughts or comments?
