DSR6000 - 35 hours of best? or low?
I have heard some people say that the Directivo units are better because they offer 35 hours of "best" recording while the 35 hour SA units only offer 35 hours of "low" or whatever. Something to do with the fact that this is a direct digital feed.
Is this true? Why? It sure doesn't seem to make any sense to me why they would record differently. Thanks.
Its Tru, but you have to understand the tech behind it...(well you dont HAVE to, but damit, you're gonna hear it anyway)
In SA units, the extra storage overhead comes from your A/D (Analog to Digital) conversion...this requiring more space to store the same A/V. On a dtivo, there is no A/D conversion...you get a straight digital signal from the dish, and thats whats recoreded and stored
Perfectly succinct description. Thanks
