Optical out is dead on S1 DTiVo...

Hey all,

I think the optical out is dead on my SAT-T60. I don't see any light coming out the end of the cable. The same cable works for my DVD player, so I know it's not the amp or the cable. Anybody else have this problem? Is it out of the question for this to go bad after 3 years?

Bob,

I know lots about LED based lasers and very little about how they might or might not be used in a Tivo but that being said yes they do burn out. So if you tried the unplug and wait and then power back on along with checking the software configurations then yes the LED could be toast.
