But there are no Sony Series 2 DirecTiVos. There is a SVR-3000 which appears to be a Series 2 Stand Alone, and would imply that the capability is included in the 6.2 software. Your choices then become 1. Waiting for a Sony Series 2 DirecTiVo owner to give you the information - ain't going to happen. 2. Waiting for a SVR-3000 owner to give you the information (possible) 3. Disassembling tivoapp (sounds like a lot of work). 4. Trying a test (get an answer within minutes).

There's a difference between needing help, and just being plain ole' lazy.

Your previous post gave me two (obvious) options. This one added an alternative that I suggested, and you hadn't thought of (apparently), as well as another option that makes no sense(see #1).

It would be like me saying to you: You have three choices when you respond to this post: 1. Repeat what I said, adding a sarcastic response, 2. Repeat what you said before (see #4 above), 3. Not respond at all, unless you have something helpful to say.

I never asked for a Sony DirecTiVo remote variable setting, just a sony unit setting. If I set the variable to "SONY" and it doesn't work, again, it doesn't prove that it doesn't work if a Sony unit (I never said sony directv tivo unit) doesn't set the variable to "SONY".

Did you ever try giving this a whirl?
