What's the lastest and greatest software ?

I've been out of the loop for awhile and just had a HDD crap out on me in my Series 2 Directv unit. It had 3.1 on it. So now I'll be getting a new 200Gb Seagate and would like to know which software I should load on it. I would like to have at the least, the basics, be able to utilize all 200gigs nophone, networked, tivoweb, 30secskip and be able to extract to dvd. Any extras would be great(as I'm sure there are alot) Please point me in the right direction.
    Thanks

The OG HDD has taken the 6.2 upgrade. I would like to back that image up and then put it on the new HDD and I was going to go by Hinsdale instructions to do it but want to make sure I don't screw up the HDD's. If I understand correctly, as long as I boot into MFSTool cd it will be alright, I just don't want to let it boot into Windows XP right?

Wouldn't it be better if I use the 6.2 image that's on the OG HDD instead of using 6.2 slices off eMule ?
    Thanks

    OG???

In general I prefer to work with the original hard drive, let it upgrade 'naturally', etc. Certainly if you have a working drive with the latest software, the best way to upgrade is to use mfstools to clone the working drive to the new drive.

There are a few pitfalls: Make sure you are using an LBA-48 aware cd (I suggest the free PTVupgrade LBA-48 Ver 4.01 cd). I suggest disconnecting any drive running Win2K or WinXP, and keep close track of which drive is the original and which is the copy.

Some people feel I get rude about incomprehensible abbreviations. You should see what Linux will do!

OK, you might want to put the TiVo back together and take up a less demanding hobby - nothing that involves power tools or sharp objects. Products & Services > Software Tools > LBA 48 Boot CD, then scroll down.
