HR10-250 B drive won't add (AddDisk Failed)

hey fellas, here is the problem, I cannot get a new B drive to add to my tivo. here is the situation.
had an hr10-250 already hacked and ready to go with 2 drives working great. backed that one up and restored it to the main drive of this new tivo. it works with the following command

mfsrestore -bzxpi /dos/tom2drivetivo.bak /dev/hdc

I can boot this and watch tv with only the 51 hardware error message popping up. I know I can fix that with 51killer.tcl.
I've tried every veriation of BlessTiVo that I can think of including typing swap at the boot prompt with no luck. I've tried restoring to both drives with the command

mfsrestore -zxpi /dos/tom2drivetivo.bak /dev/hdc /dev/hdb

that dosn't work either. I've tried mfsadd and that dosn't work either. so here is the output of the console with the 2 drive image restored to the master drive and the second drive Blessed with the boot param swap I hope someone can help me cuz I don't know where to look anymore. just so you know, i've searched the forum for relevant posts for AddDisk Failed. Here's the output. I've highlighted in red what I think the error is, I just don't know how to solve it. Also, I've tried all 4 channels of IDE on 2 computers. I should also note that these are the second set of hard drives I've tried. I rma'd the first thinking it was a hardware issue.

If I read your post correctly, you had a two drive Tivo and only backed up the A drive. If that's correct, you need to run a backup which includes both drives and then restore with the new(er) two drives.

If you are adding large drives, check for my earlier post on the difficulties I had installing 2x400 and that may help.

OK, here's what I did for my 2 x 400 gb drive

ran mfsrestore on one drive only and created a 400 MB swap file
(used the -4 command)
ran tpip to properly initialize the swap file
ran mfsadd on both drives

did the various moves to get the hacks working.

What size are you drives?

Better post what you really did (commands are good). If you didn't divorce the two drives, you can't restore the backup made from a 2 drive system to a single drive (at least I don't think you can).

Andy, I am not adding anything different than what is in my other tivo.

to clear things up,
I have one hr10-250 that was upgraded to a 300gb and 400gb drives with a hacked kernel telnet, mfsftp etc. etc. that works AWSOME!!

I purchased another hr10-250 and am trying to do the same. I purchased another 300gb and 400gb hard drive for this,

All 4 drives are seageate, same models and all

I've backedup my working tivo, both drives with a command similer to:

mfsbackup -6so /dos/tom2drivetivo.bak /dev/hdc /dev/hdb

I've then restored this backup in multiple ways as stated in my first post.
the issue I'm having is adding the 2nd drive. I can get the tivo to boot and watch tv with the backup restored to a single drive and that drive in the tivo. If I restore to both drives, the tivo dosn't work. anything I do to add the second drive is failing. If I add with mfsadd, the tivo won't boot (sorry, I don't have the console output for this at the moment) if I add with BlessTiVo I get the console output above in my first post. Perhaps someone can tell me some different ways to do this... If you need me to, I can go back and go through all my processes again and document the commands I used, but I haven't written that down as of now.
