    Newbie question on re-imaging my TiVo (SIR-S4120R)

    I have a Samsung DIRECTV Receiver/DVR with TiVo (SIR-S4120R) and would like to re-image it. I'm a total newbie on Tivo stuff and would like to know if anyone can point me to a Web address or step-by-step instructions on how to do this?

    You seem to have a Series-2 DirecTivo unit.
    When you say "re-image" do you mean buying a new hard drive and installing a fresh, clean copy of the DirecTV Tivo system software?

    I'd suggest either The Hinsdale Guide to backing up your current drive, or PTVupgrade's Instant Cake for creating a new tivo drive from scratch.

    Thanks Narf54321. I'm trying to install a clean copy of the DirecTV Tivo system and maybe upgrading the hard drive at the same time.
