Humm... What would help right now would be a small piece of the file. I was told by a few people that there were issues with the newest TivoOS versions of the HD stuff. My tivos are exactly as they were about 18 months ago. So I have no idea what version of the OS I have on there. I will look tonight. I know it is old but it does work!

I'd be happy to send you the file, but even the smallest fragment I could get from the processing is 19mb. I have had to C&DE my tivo again, but I downloaded all the shows off of it first. Problem is, I start getting the error when I try to get the files OUT of the TY format by muxing them. The video is decrypted, so I know that the nocso is working... But the audio is where the errors are. Here's the log file for a non-hd show I tried a piece of:

    Code:

Oh sure rub it in... I have a dual core AMD 4800+ and a 4200+ and an Intel box as well. Pretty darn slick machines honestly... Shame not to take full advantage of them.

By the way, I PM'd you with links to three short samples of streams extracted from 6.3C, 2 off air HD and a SD clip, about 3 minutes of the SD clip and about 1 minute of the HD, which all exihibt the problems right from the start.
I got 2 of them. One had a bad URL a stray : made it in and I didn't have the energy to find a way to download it last night. I am working on getting it today.

Sounds good. My ftp site isn't up at the new place. I will have to get it running and put back up. Do you by any chance have a way to host it and just send me the information to download it in the mean time?

Alright I am gathering a list of the things I ahve been working on. Not all are ready for prime time yet so I need to prioritize a bit. Perhaps it is worth releasing things that are partially working just to get some of the other fixes out with a promise from people not to post a million bug reports on the known unfinished things...

Anyway I will work on the list.

We are all just happy your back. Any one says boo about your beta versions and the rest of us will choke them. We would be happy to test anything at all. Currently, the only way to get a clean download from my HR10 is to pull a TMF and convert so no problem playing with a beta. The errors that geordi posted aren't exactly the same as mine but close. Basically, it's some type of offset error when coming down so it drops 2/3s of the show. Oh and the wife says to tell you we have a couch you can crash on with a view of the Ocean. She loves you little software package as well !

Dropping DTV? LA LA LA LA *fingers in ears*

Hehehe... Personally I like mine well enough that i will be here to turn the lights off.

    --jdiner
I still have DTV for the moment. The main problem I have with DTV is that any new HD channels they add to their lineup will all be mpeg4 (I have other issues with them but that's a topic for a completely different thread). My HDTivos won't be much use for recording the mpeg4 stuff and the HR20 can't be hacked for the things I want to do with it. My HTPC will record all my OTA HD channels when that happens and I won't have to pay any monthly fees for the privilege.

Verizon is reportedly adding a bunch more HD channels in the near future to their lineup. Chances are they'll be adding the same channels as DTV, making Verizon a better choice IMHO. A hacked S3 Tivo will allow me to go about my business as usual once the encryption and processing tools are nailed down. DTV is fine for just plain viewing and time shifting but you and the other developers have made us want more! You've turned us all into little Tivo monsters!
Please don't PM me or any other members looking for personal assistance. You'll do better by posting (after you've exhausted the search feature, of course) and taking advantage of the collective expertise of the membership instead of a single individual that may or may not be able to help you. Thank you and enjoy your stay at DDB!

Well CPUs without boards are not very exciting.... (work offered to buy a board and accessories, but has not followed through)

Yup. Tivo does not have a : in it. The second link is buggered, but the path
is the same as the others..

I was hosting at it Server Beach until the server hard drive crashed. After paying 120 per month for a few years to host a few sites, I wasn't about to pay them to see if the drive could be recovered. I haven't been able to find any of the backups after having problems with my home computers. I'll keep looking, but I haven't found much, and if I do find one it will likely be an old one. As for the domain, I do not control the registration for it. Even if I had a place to restore to I wouldn't have been able to change the DNS records.

I do. Are you wanting the ty file, or the buggered mpg? B/c I don't know of any easy way of clipping the ty down to something manageable... And the smallest one is just over a gig.

Incidentally, I also am the owner of a large portion of webspace that can be domain-assignable. Let's talk, it seems like you are in the market for a new host, and I just happen to be one.

    Geordi-
I needed a way to trim a ty down to size, and found this cool little
package of Unix tools ported to Windows. UnxUtils.zip (SF hosted, google
should find it). In the package is dd.

    dd bs=1000000 count=20 if=<your-file.ty> of=<your-file-cut.ty>

Will produce a nice little 20MB file.

Cool, I'll have to try that when I get home.

Hey JD, would a 10mb file work for you, or would a larger size be preferable?

Feature Request - When in FAE can we get a button to jump to next/previous GOP?

I regularly hit the wrong GOP and I have to exit FAE, back up a GOP, then enter FAE. Would be easier to just jump fwd or back.
