You didn't say what model Toshiba you have but is it hacked with the Superpatch? It needs to be; TivoServer won't work with a stock tivo.
I'm using TivoServer (tivoserver-0.4.4-a4.2(cygwin)) and it loads fine. When I go to my Toshiba S2, I see the TivoServer DVR at the bottom of my Now Playing list. When I select it, I get the following message:
"Programs cannot be transfered from the TivoServer DVR to the HOME DVR because the TivoServer DVR is not enabled for tranfers"
Any idea why?

I thought only DirecTivo's needed to be hacked. What is the quickest way to hack my SD-H400? I already have 7.3-1 installed.
Lots of info like that in here; a simple search for 'hack sd-h400' would have led you to this thread.

I sleeper'd my H400 over a year ago & expanded the drive. This prevented me from getting updates which I wasn't too happy about. I some how found a way around it and got my unit to start accepting updates again. I just want to hack it to the point where TivoServer will work. What is the process that makes Tivo accepts MVR connections?
Repeat after my first post....Superpatch. So is it hacked or not? Do you have telnet, ftp? If so, just run the Superpatch; if not you need to go the 'killhdinitrd' route.

Is killhdinitrd the only way to get bash/telnet/ftp on the H400?
Without a PROM mod? Yes. Is there some reason you resist it? It's about as simple as it gets. Go grab the $5 Enhanced LBA48 boot CD from ptvupgrade.com and get the 7.2.2-oth-K1 kernel off of it, uncompress it, and dd it to your kernel partition.

Anytime TiVo loads updates by itself, it includes an unmodified kernel which will end up erasing all your hacks, plus any patched tivoapp file. You really want to use the bootpage param upgradesoftware=false, and modify /tvbin/installSw.itcl to control the update process manually yourself.
Here is a thread describing the install of killhdinitrd kernel.
