    Hacked 3.15 to 6.3c

My HR10-250 is hacked at v3.15. It is very old! I see that I have 6.3c in mfs and would like to let it go ahead and take the upgrade, but am don't know how to do it. Do I just disable fakecall, or do I need to do something else? I know I will lose my existing hacks, but will redo them after the upgrade. I figure this is the easiest way of keeping my recordings, season passes, etc.

    Thanks for any pointers,
    Harvey

You probably want to do an in-place upgrade. The exact software versions are of course going to be different than that thread, but the idea is the same.

At the minimum replace the kernel on the 'new' partition and give yourself telnet/bash. You'll likely also need to fix iptables. Add iptables -F to your rc.sysinit.author file is the current favored method.

As long as you have telnet working, you can fix/hack everything else easily afterward.
