    USB ethernet adapter.

Hey guys, I just bought another usb/ethernet adapter from Ebay and on my TiVo i plug it in and it gives this vend/prod (0xa46/0x268) but I'm not finding any driver information or anything more about it. Anyone have an idea if this is supported and what i would need to do to enable it??

Google tells me this is a ShanTou ST268 using the Davidcom DM9601 USB-ether bridge chip. Looking over usb.map, and at the backport usb modules, I don't see any support for this chip. If you can find linux 2.4 driver source, and have some linux kernel development skills, you might be able to backport a driver.

    Radio Shack Trendnet

I have had great success with the Trendnet USB to Ethernet adaptor. Recently, Radio Shack began carrying this adaptor for around $25-30. It also works with the WII perfectly. With both platforms it was plug and play.

I have a Samsung SIR-4040R DirecTivo (series 2). Do you know if the Trendnet USB to Ethernet adaptor is compatible with my unit? What Tivo model are you using?

It might work, but it's not worth the trouble. That's a USB1.1 device.

True. However, the Trendnet TU-ET100C is USB 1.1. According to my crystal ball, that's what he has.

I'm sorry for bumping this thread but I couldnt find a good one. Here goes -

I have two adapters that work with S2 tivos with some caveats.

One labeled "Airlink101 USB 2.0 Ethernet adapter." This works with 7.2+ on a Pioneer 810. Popped it open and it has an Asix ax88772 chipset.

One labeled "Trendnet TU-ET100C REV C3.2" which did NOT work with 7.2 during guided setup with an error screen that it wasnt supported but did work once the box upgraded to 9.3 . Popped it open and it has an Infineon ADM8511 chipset.
