TivoHD -> XBMC (without hacking the Tivo)
I've been out of the Tivo hacking loop for a while, so correct me if I'm wrong...
TivoHD's now have MRV enabled.
XBMC is, of course, super cool.
From what I understand, playing Tivo video on the Xbox is not currently possible with existing software without hacking the Tivo to run ccxstream.
But... in theory, it could be done? Here's my thinking, correct me if I'm missing something.
tivoserver can stream non-protected media from the Tivo using MRV.
tivodecode can decrypt the resulting stream, given the Media Access Key for the unit (from tivo.com).
So, in theory, this code or some kind of hacked format of it could be added to XBMC and the Xbox could then stream video directly from any Tivo capable of doing MRV without hacking the Tivo.
Right? Wrong? Am I being a moron? Or has it simply not been added to XBMC yet?
