Vacationing with HR21....

here is an interesting Q -

I'm heading from NJ to upstate NY (about 200 miles north in a straight line)
for the thanksgiving w/e. My dad has DTV, witht he correct dish for an HR21, but he is in florida for the winter.

If i bring my unit with me, what channels will it not receive ?
(i get just about everything available in NJ!)

I know this is a very open ended Q, but just trying to figure out if i can get the HD broadcast of the football games, and perhaps some HD PPV.

I can't give you a definite answer; I haven't seen any reports of anyone trying this. Off the top of my head, I think you will be able to receive all satellite channels, just as if you were at home. 200 miles probably won't make any difference in the strength of signal from the spot beam. So local (NJ) channels on the spot beam will still be available. OTA channels from NJ almost certainly won't be available ; I'm not sure if you will be able to receive any of the upstate NY locals.
