Going to download and tinker when I get home, anyone else tried and have any thoughts about it?
If only I could figure out how to make my TiVo remote work in reality....
Unfortunately the download link is broken.

There's a difference between needing help, and just being plain ole' lazy.

OK, that was fast. It just arrived.
And it crashes while trying to play a recording. Bummer.

pAGE no longer works and never saw anything to put my email in to get the serial number.. got s/w but no serial
can we not host it here?
Hosting the download here does no good unless you get a serial number. It worked for me. Use the link in the original post.

Well I've been playing around with this application and must admit the application is pretty cool. While I am wired into a router that only has this laptop and one of my HR20s, it is seamlessly streaming playback and seeking all of my recorded HD programming. I'm certain the application is built on the Intel ViiV and Media CDS spec, but hopefully others with more time and ability will be able to toy around with it more.
One thing I wasn't too pleased about, was the amount of hoops that I needed to jump through in order to get it up and running.
Download DIRECTV2PC Playback Advisor
Get "Secret Download Link"
Download DIRECTV2PC(TM) Application for a 9kb/sec server
Get Activation Key
Activate Application on First Run
Find and Connect to recievers (certain they are using the Intel ViiV communication specs that I should still have the dev notes for)
Connect to internet to Activate Encrypted Content License Playback
Playback recorded media
how has everyone else's experience been so far?
If only I could figure out how to make my TiVo remote work in reality....
Haven't had any issues with a hr20 and a hr21. Been using this app for a few months now and it works surprisingly well. The only issue I have is I'd rather watch my recordings on my 50" plasma than on my PC monitor.
Here is the current link for the download....
