hr21 question

I am thinking about getting a HR21. Does anyone know if a phone line is required to use it? I cannot use a phone line with my sub so if it is a requirement I may have to get a H21 and some sort of stand alone recorder instead. Any info would be appreaciated. TNX.

they says it's required, but really it's NOT required.. It's only required if you are ordering PPV via remote control.

As Hanzo97 said, it will ask for the phone line but will continue to function normally if you don't plug one in.

You don't even need one to activate, unlike the DTiVos. The HR2x series have network connectivity.
