http_get and sh available on S2.5SA?

I'm trying to get gotomydvr working on my TCD540 (PROM modded), but I can't get either http_get to work (comes up with a seg fault every time), or if I grab the b_install.sh file and FTP it over, I get errors when I try to run it with sh.

    Any ideas?

Where did you get http_get from? It's native on your tivo in /tvbin - use that one. Also, try and run the shell script from the directory it's in (make sure it's in your path) like this:
    Code:
    ./b_install.sh

Yeah, I try to run http_get "the usual way" and I get a segmentation fault on it every time...

My path in .author only includes /bin:/tvbin:/sbin:/tivo-bin, but not /var/anything.

I just don't understand where the seg fault is coming from.

Your path really doesn't tell you were http_get is getting called from. As ScanMan said, verify you are running the correct http_get. perhaps you have another version somehwere else in your path that your script and/or command line is calling. You may also avoid this by using the full path, /tvbin/http_get.

To verify which http_get is getting called:
    bash# which http_get

    result should be: /tvbin/http_get

    That's the one.

Something else is causing the seg faults. Maybe this version is broken?

That's possible. Did you replace it?
when you ftped your files over to tivo did you use binary tranfer mode? If not, it may be as simple as retransfering the files using binary mode.

I've also heard of http_get seg faults when going through proxy servers and sometimes when going to urls that tivo can't resolve. Sometimes fixed going to -U http://ipaddress/...

I'd sure like to hear from other S2.5SA users trying out the gotomydvr beta... don't know if there are any yet, and Lou says it hasn't been tried on one internally.

Were you able to download it? I don't think you have to use http_get; you could simply download the "b_install.sh" to your PC and upload it (FTP) to your tivo or even use wget (which is part of Alphawolf's All-In-One Utilities) on your tivo.

Oh, and make sure the file is executable (chmod 755 b_install.sh).

I changed the line in b_install.sh to use wget instead of hhtp_get, and it does indeed load. But gotomydvr refuses to run, throwing a "Known Hosts" error. Http_get in the TCD540 is broken.

Sorry to resurrect the dead but I am having this exact same error running gotomydvr on a TivoHD and was wondering if a solution was ever found.
