    It's worth noting, I think, that this may not be fixable. I think I recall getting some sort of strange error after adding the last mfs pair. IIRC, I ran mfsinfo on the expanded drive, and it gave some sort of error, which I did not record, unfortunately. Is it possible there's a problem with the MFS on this drive? I've never seen a green screen on this unit yet, during any portion of this, but that doesn't mean with certainty it hasn't happened.

    I'd have to pull the drive to find the error again.

    This is what the info page of twp looks like
    (twp 2.1.b2) I remember there was a reason, but at the moment, I cannot recall why I rolled back to an older version

    Tivo-twp-info.png

    The "Total Used" and the "Deleted" values look like they are correct. The number of episodes matches the number on my deleted items folder, and the space used is a reasonably believable amount for those shows. The total used is nearly the same as indicated by flashFXP's total of the files in the tmf directory.

    Part of the issue is that pZone has exceeded the value of a signed int and is being read as a negative value. The call to seek fails becuase of this. If this is the only problem, then we can code around it. However, I haven't investigate if the large pZone value is reasonable.

    I just realized I have a 2TB disk that has a copy (direct dd_rescue copy) of this system image from a few weeks ago, and I could use it to duplicate the mfsinfo error I mentioned earlier.

    Please consider the possibility a typo may exist. I could not get "mfsinfo /dev/sdc > filename.txt" to dump the output into a file, so I had to manually type the screen output.

    with the tivo disk at /dev/sdc, the output of mfsinfo /dev/sdc was:
    Code:
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    Super Header
            state=0 magic=abbafeed
            devlist=/dev/hda10 /dev/hda11 /dev/hda12 /dev/hda13 /dev/hda14 /dev/hda15
            zonemap_ptr=1121 total_secs=3830415360
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------
    MFS volume set for /dev/sdc
    The MFS volume set contains 6 partitions

      /dev/sdc11       2097152         1024 MiB
      /dev/sdc12       1048576          512 MiB
      /dev/sdc13    2147450880      1048560 MiB
      /dev/sdc14       1048576          512 MiB
      /dev/sdc15             0            0 MiB
    Total MFS sectors: -2142273536d
    Total MFS volume size: 1051120 MiB

    mfsinfo[946]: segfault at 0 ip 08049e22 sp bfe74b30 error f in mfsinfo[8048000+9000]
    Segmentation fault
    Notice it shows nothing for the last MFS partition pair, and ends up with a negative Total MFS sectors number.

    I don't know if there's a problem with my system (runs fine, has filled the disk with suggestions), or if mfsinfo just needs to be added to the list of programs that cannot handle a disk this size.

    The partition table on this disk looks like:
    Code:
    Partition map (with 512 byte blocks) on '/dev/sdb'
     #: type name length base ( size )

    Try these two. The first one uses "wide", but I am not sure if that is availble on all units. The second one splits the seeks into two calls if the value is too large.

    Does this problem present on S3's/THD's? Or do THD's avoid it by virtue of their 64-bit MFS?

    Whenever I finally get around to biting the bullet and having my S3 prommed, I intend to get a 2TB disk on it as well.

    what value does GetTotalSize return? size (in kB, MB, GB?) or sectors?

    I've been wondering about just hardcoding it in the interim.
