    Passcode restriction for MRV DTivos

I've 5 MRV'ed DTivos and would like to setup a passcode to restrict the access and transfering (of recorded shows) of the "other" DTivo(s).
Currently when parental controls are used they have NO impact on restricting the access OR transferring AND playing of recorded shows on "other MRV" units, the only restriction appears to be on the unit where the parental contols were set itself.
In essence then children can simply use MRV to transfer any show they want and watch it on another DTivo.

What I'm looking for is a way to stop the access of the contents of the "other" MRV'ed DTivos until a passcode is entered.

Mine worked that way, by default. The only problem I had with it that way, was that there was no MRV transfer possible without the parental code, regardless of rating. The other problem, was that to set the parental code and ratings restrictions, the hard drive had to be placed in a box with a valid, activated access card. When it was in one of the "mrv dumb terminals" (as I call them), the ratings settings worked, but they could not be changed, nor could the code be changed or removed.

    Passcode restriction for MRV'ed Tivos

My apology for not getting back here sooner, ie, over 2 yrs but I tried restricting access with the passcode on my Tivos (I only have one dumb terminal) and it did not stop MRV'ing from any "other" unit, they don't request anything and the show(s) are readily viewable..... so I guess I'm just unlucky .... I wish I had your problems.
