    Thanks Jamie, I remember now. It's been so long since the last SW release that you forget the nuances.

    My series 3 Tivo never got this. Why might that be? (I have updates disabled and NoThanks applied, but that shouldn't impede downloading the update, should it?)

    OK. I don't provide support for the .tcl app.

    No, it shouldn't, but I haven't received an update, either, on any of my 3 S3 TiVos.

    I actually wasn't looking for help with the tcl app as I have never been able to get it to work. I was just looking for the address numbers to patch tivoapp directly, ie "echo -ne "\x10\x00\x00\xaa" | dd conv=notrunc of=tivoapp bs=1 seek=1914172" which applied to 11.0j . I think i figured it out, but haven't gotten the update yet to try it out.

    To convert the VMA hex addresses to decimal file offsets, simply subtract 0x400000 from the VMA hex address & convert to decimal. Here are the lines for the main 11.0m patches in this order:

    //noencryption
    //cci1
    //cci2
    //backdoors
    //cci3
    //deletethisrecording?
    //30secskip
    //nopauseads

    Code:
    11.0m
    echo -ne "\x10\x00\x00\xaa" | dd conv=notrunc of=tivoapp bs=1 seek=1912332
    echo -ne "\x00\x00\x80\x21" | dd conv=notrunc of=tivoapp bs=1 seek=2450112
    echo -ne "\x24\x11\x00\x00" | dd conv=notrunc of=tivoapp bs=1 seek=2450148
    echo -ne "\x24\x10\x00\x01" | dd conv=notrunc of=tivoapp bs=1 seek=3616368
    echo -ne "\x00\x00\x80\x21" | dd conv=notrunc of=tivoapp bs=1 seek=13117088
    echo -ne "\x10\x00\x00\x03" | dd conv=notrunc of=tivoapp bs=1 seek=5979176
    echo -ne "\x10\x40\x00\x26" | dd conv=notrunc of=tivoapp bs=1 seek=7927132
    echo -ne "\x00\x00\x00\x00" | dd conv=notrunc of=tivoapp bs=1 seek=7945248

    I didn't get the .tcl script to work, either, but I never really gave it any effort. I just wrote my hack_tivoapp script:

    http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/sh...app#post297738

    It will run directly on a live TiVo, and all one must needs do is put the old and new hex values and the offsets in a flat text file named hacks.fil, and run the script. An example hacks.fil for 11.0m might be:

    Code:
    0x005d2e0c "104000aa 100000aa"	//noencryption
    0x006562c0 "30b000ff 00008021"	//cci1
    0x006562e4 "00e08821 24110000"	//cci2
    0x00772e70 "00008021 24100001"	//backdoors
    0x010826a0 "30b000ff 00008021"	//cci3
    0x009b3c28 "12400003 10000003"  //deletethisrecording?
    0x00b8f55c "14400026 10400026"  //30secskip
    0x00b93c20 "0c2e527f 00000000"  //nopauseads
    (Don't forget, this is a linux system. Don't try to use a DOS / Windows editor to create the file unless it is linux aware and can write a proper linux text file.)

    I received the update on one of my TiVos, but not the other two, yet.

    I just received it one mine, darn it. I was hoping not to have to pull the drive for awhile. AT first I thought it was just having problems again, but then I realized I could not ftp or telnet and thought, hey, must have got new software. But it doesn't look like they fixed the netflix app, darn it, which would at least make it worthwhile to have to go thru all the trouble again.

    Well, my skills were getting rusty. i will post in the other forum if I need help again....

    Just got the update on my one S3 TiVo still in service, or at least I just noticed the update when I went to transfer this week's Dexter. Damn.. wish I had seen this thread earlier so I could've disabled updates/prepped. I'll have to pull the drive at some point.

    Thanks for the updated patches.

    Upgraded both of my TivoHD units yesterday without pulling my drives (.tcl method) in under an hour. Most of the time was spent clearing the cobwebs out of that part of my brain.
    Thanks to all for the efforts that go into making this possible.
