my Philips unit only comes with one drive (40GB) so it only has one connector on the IDE cable that tivo makes.. so i need to replace the IDE with 2 connectors.. which cable would be the ideal one to use for my 2 drives..

My single drive 40 came with 2 connectors. Guess I got lucky.

If it were me I would get an ATA100 IDE cable. Not cause the Tivo is ATA100 but because of the better quality cable.

You can usually tell the difference in an ATA100 and ATA66 by the thickness of the wires in the ribbon cable. ATA66 is thick like the orginal Tivo cable (40 Pin). ATA100 has real fine wires and has 80 wires but only 40Pins. 2 wires per pin.

My philips came with only one drive, but there is another cable ribbon already there for the addition of another hard drive.

    How much time I will have if I had a Phillips DSR6k with a 30 + 80 in it.
