Should I be able to transfer from my hacked Series 3 HD to a Premiere? 'Cause I can't

I should note that I'm pretty green and just use the OLD info on hacking. The following is all I've ever used:

Into a file called "hacks.fil" I then put it into /var/hack and ran hack_tivoapp

Should that fix anything? Crap. I wish I understood this better. I appreciate any help though.

You've run into a tricky problem, as your premiere isn't hacked, it generates an "Error #86" when it's acting as an MRV client and attempting to receive an unencrypted video from your hacked Series 3 unit. I believe that your best bet for interoperability between a hacked Series 3 and an unhacked premiere, would be to leave the recordings encrypted on the Series 3 unit. To do that, you would not apply the

0x005d2e0c "104000aa 100000aa" //noencryption

patch (which disabled encryption). Assuming you've done that, then MRV should work between the two units for any encrypted video (i.e., any video you make after you removed the "noencryption" patch).

Could he/she leave them un-encrypted and copy to PC via TiVo Desktop, and then copy from PC to the S4?

Excellent point, one can use TiVo Desktop or some other TiVo Desktop solution (like kmttg) to extract shows from each unit, and then upload them to the other.

Well, it's still not working. I'd already applied the patch, so I made a new hacks.fil file with the following: 0x005d2e0c "100000aa 104000aa" //noencryption" to "reverse" the encryption, but it's still giving me an error #86...

I can easily transfer from my hacked tivo hd to my roamio plus. i never enabled the noencryption hack, just the cc1/cc2/cc3 hacks.

Just to be clear though, you can't reverse the noencryption hack on shows that are already recorded. only newly recorded shows would be encrypted and eligible for transfer.
