Still have problems with editing RC.SYSINIT

I have copied known good CHATTR and CHMOD to UNIX to try and modify the permissions/attributes to be able to modify RC.SYSINIT.

Although, I am still having problems! I tried to rename CHATTR and CHMOD to something else just in case those commands had been redirected but I get the same error on CHATTR - No binary file to execute and CHMOD gives me applet not found...

    Anyone have any other suggestions???!!!!!

Are you using Kazymyr boot CD or Dylan's boot disk or something else? If not try one of those.
You'll need to install chattr to either of those. Chattr instructions and download here ===> http://www.dealdatabase.com/forum/sh...=5743#post5743
And the boot images here ===> http://pvrhack.sonnik.com/tivo/download.asp

    Everyone

I am restoring the orginal backup and going to edit the RC.SYSINIT file. Then I will get in touch with those who have
volunteered and it will be online sometime today or tomorrow.
The uncompressed image was 1.4gb it will be interesting to see what the compressed size will be.......

    Thanks again everyone for helping..

    JQ

Also, tonight I get to see if the modified RC.SYSINIT file works in the new DTIVO....

What is the status on this? Has the CCC image been posted anywhere? I would like to take a look at it. Let's get to the bottom of this one. Cheers.

Yes, but to get it to boot, you'll have to edit rc.sysinit to take out the reference to a specific TiVo service number for your friend's unit.
