TivoWebPlus Questions, is this the right place

I am now not a newbie, but I cannot figure out if this is the right place to ask questions about TivoWebPlus development.

i Learned a lot in the last few years about how to hack my tivo and now I am updating TWP to the latest. I read most of the development thread well, at least the last 30 pages or so and figured I would try to update my TWP. I am also documenting so I know what I did for later since I figure if I did it, somebody else will need to know in the future also.

So the latest I found at sourceforge was 2.1.b3-20130113.tgz. I downloaded that and extracted it to a tar file. Because I am lazy I renamed it to tivowebnet.tar and ftped it to my tivo using filezilla. Then I stopped TWP and renamed the directory using the command
    Code:
    mv TivoWebPlus Tivowebold
which worked fine and then I made sure that tivowebnet.tar was in the hacks directory and did the following command which would create the newest TivoWebPlus directory and have the updated files.
    Code:
    tar -xvf tivowebnet.tar
I also read to the latest part of the thread which includes some fixes for the modules, which i downloaded and then fpted over to the modules directory after extraction (there were three at this time related to season passes I think

I then ran TWP by cd ing to TivoWebPlus and typing tivoweb. After it started up, I went into configuration and changed the port to 8080 since I think it defaults to port 80 and saved and restarted and it seemed to work fine. Is this the most up to date way to have everything? I have not played with it much as I still have a problem that I think is not related to my upgrade but anyway, that is what I did for those looking to upgrade. If that is not correct or if this is the wrong place please let me know.

Now my problem. I cannot schedule recordings, which worked fine a week ago. Now i can look at the shows, but when I get to the part where you select the time pading and such if I hit schedule, it hangs and reboots the tivo. I think in the past this was due to bad season passes, but I cannot figure out how to correct them short of deleting all the season passes and starting over. Speaking of season passes, does the latest version allow season pass scheduling without problems? I understand if it doesn't, I have made it three years or so without, but I have yet to try on the new system because I think that also causes rebooting or might have caused my initial issue. Is there an easy way to find which SP is causing the problem and is that why the tivo is rebooting when trying to schedule or did I screw something up? Any help great appreciated. I am learning and always try to help others after I learn what I am doing.

Okay, for anyone wondering, here is what i have done and what I found so far. It seems there was a problem with my channels list. I also was getting the season pass corrupted so I deleted several questionable or problem season passes but still got the crash on trying to schedule.
I then went to the channel list and tried to clean that up, move/switch channels, I did this because I found several copies of this error in my tverror log.
    Code:

Since I have no idea how to find out what channel is bad, I just basically removed all non essential channels via the tivo interface and then added back my regular channels and I guess that fixed it because now I can schedule. I would like to know how I could have tracked down the bad channel as it makes sense that the tivo would hiccup if there was a bad channel info and my logs have lots more detail but again, I mostly have no idea what that means.

Also, I would really like answers to my questions above too, but at least this is how it seems to be fixed for now.
Thanks in advance for any help

Well, not sure what is going on now. Have rebooted twice trying to schedule. I was able to schedule after the 10 am errors sometime between 10 and 12, but recent crashes are not scheduling. MAybe for 2 different errors? One time I happened to be trying a different theme and thought that might be the cause so I switched back to faiec or whatever, but still get crashes again. recent log below.

Although TWP is not under active development anymore, it is a really stable product, and not likely to cause the types of crashes that you're describing. Currently, updates are usually for small things that never got fixed (ie, the three modules you mentioned had problems with scheduling recordings on sub-channels under certain circumstances). The steps you took to install seem fine, so something else is causing the problem. What company is your cable provider? Time Warner and others have in the past year done full rebuilds of their cable lineup which necessitated re-running guided setup on TiVos. I've read that in some areas, people have had to redo all of their season passes, as well.
BTW, support for TivoWebPlus has traditionally been handled here.
    More software at http://davidlauria.com/software.
The lost alt-rock masterpiece from the '90s, Range of Motion's "Soft Buzz of Silence", is now available on iTunes!

Thanks David, I responded in the other thread and referenced this one. I know TWP is very stable except when you go monkeying with season passes (or maybe thats fixed now) which is why I was trying out the latest and greatest. I think i did everything right and I too think its something with channels or SPs but i can't make sense of the logs to track it down, because I did have it working since I scheduled 2 new programs. Would it possibly be that the online SP from tivo might have synced up and corrupted something? Anyway, I posted more info and logs in the other thread. Since i play with this stuff about twice a year, i like to leave good breadcrumbs for myself or anyone else to follow. Oh and my cable company is cox and i am not having any issues on my premiere with channels. I did add and remove some channels in trying to fix the errors via the tivo interface (and in trying out the updated TWP) I also tried deleting a season pass or two thru TWP as I think that worked okay in the past, just scheduling new SP seemed to have an issue if I remember correctly so I usually do those on my tivo, but I might have tried it thru TWP after I updated everything to see if it worked better.
