dtivo as video source for myth?
I'm sure this might take some work... but essentially I would like my mythtv capture source to be a mythtivo connected system.
Basically I would like to capture a direcTV show without an intermediary analog conversion... but I don’t want to use my dTivo for storage.... that's what my mythtv box is for. It would be great if this has been done... but if not, please consider it... It would be awesome to capture digital programs into mythtv without the conversion to analog... cleaner files, easier to decode, transcode, and likely much better quality in comparable file sizes. Why don’t I want to store the video on the tivo?... cause I want my family to be able to use the myth system seamlessly... they change channels in myth, the channel changes on the dtivo box and the tivo stream is then displayed on the myth box... just the same as if I had an external directv tuner connected to my mythbox, but pure digital, with AC3 sound. Thanks for any info or work to make this happen for me. |

Let's leave the poor guy alone. He said he'd tell us when he made progress.
Of course, I certainly hope he has made progress, my Xbox is getting jealous of my TiVo.

Well while we are chatting.....I tried to play a DTiVo mpg file that has dolby digital on it and it just chokes in XBMP. Any one gotten XBMP to play a dolby digital movie?

A ty file exported to mpeg w/ DD or just any movie (including AVIs) with DD?
The only reason I ask is that I have played many AVIs (DivX, Xvid encoded) with DD audio on XBMP without any problem. Although I have never tried to convert a ty file with DD audio and play it on XBMP... It could just be a bug or XBMP might not support MPEG2 w/ DD audio... d7 would be the person to answer that... |

Is the raw ty support still active in the latest build?

I haven't tried 6-24 yet. Been running 6-9.

Guess I'll jump back to 6/9's build then.

![]() I've uploaded to sourceforge the ccxstream server for tivo. It has series 2 binaries. I happen to know (already got some feedback) that the sources won't build a working binary for series 1. When I find out what needs to change, I'll make the changes. The build I've uploaded is ALPHA quality and shouldn't be considered much more than that. Its got quite a few bugs I'm already aware off. But it does work for testing purposes. I eventually want to integrate vserver with it so you can have a single binary for all your streaming needs. I've been busy getting XBMP 3.0 off the ground. I'll probably be spending the rest of this week working on the tivo stuff. The current CVS does not play .ty files. I don't know why. It did not too long ago. I'll look into that tonight. I am working on this still. Its still fairly high on my todo list. ![]() duo |
