Fakecall.tcl is indeed useful for 6.2 as I just found out. The next AIO set release (which will be somewhen) will include an updated version to add support for 6.x.

Meanwhile you can adjust line 78 of fakecall.tcl from this:

Code:
} elseif { [regexp {^4} $sw] } {
to this:

Code:
} elseif { [regexp {^4} $sw] || [regexp {^6} $sw] } {

Also one more thing, if you find you've lost your local channels after you upgrade, the quickest way to get them back is to tune your tivo to one of your local channels, dial 1-800-DIRECTV, press 1, then press 711. If you are calling from your home phone then you don't even need to speak to a representative, and it'll take 30 seconds or so, and your tivo will go to the acquiring screen with like 85% complete. Once it finishes, your local channels will show up on the spot.

If you don't call from your home phone and end up talking to a customer service rep, just tell them that your locals don't work and you want them to fix it. They wont even ask why, they'll just fix it.

Yes. Same kernel as 3.1.5x.

thanks...
Please correct your post - you're going to confuse somebody. The 2.4.4 kernel does NOT have LBA-48 support, and NO standalones use it.

Heres an image of a 6.2 dtivo hard disk that was created using the mfs from scratch method. It can restore to any hard disk that is 2 gig or larger. Since it is in a factory state, it might take a while to bootup for the first time, but it will boot at normal speed anytime after that. There are no hacks applied so this is a perfectly clean image. This is also a relatively small file as well (~90MB.)

6.2.dtivo.minimal.AlphaWolf_HK.zip

Note that the URL provided gives a complete emule hash set, so there is no chance of a fake or any corruption so long as you use that link.

I've used the backup module to backup and restore on 6.2, works like a charm.

Now that's Something that should be at the first post of this thread... Makes it easier to do a clean install, hack it, restore your season passes and go on (hopefully they get mfs_ftp insertions fixed)...

I've had no problems with mfs_ftp insertions. You just need to comment all the event commands on mfs_ftp.tcl

Can anyone confirm this? I'd only heard the opposite, and want to be sure before I alter the post at the beginning of the thread.

Sorta works...The .tmf will upload but error out after finishing..Then you need to reboot, and the recording should appear in NowPlaying. I've only tested it once, so proceed with caution.

Uh, the events are there for a reason. Some things (such as the now playing list) might not update if the "refresh" events are not generated.

I've uploaded 4 streams so far. No need to rebot or anything. Works just like before, except the Now Playing list sometimes is not updated inmediately.

I just reload it again (back to Tivo Central, and Now Playing) and it works ok.

I haven't received any errors when uploading.

Granted, but since there is not obvious solution for the moment, it's been working so far. The light might no update inmediately, but it's better than nothing.

I clearly doubt rc3105 will release a new version of mfs_ftp, so this would need to be fixed with somebody with some TiVo experience or we will ose this ability... (that, or get HMO patched and working).

Unfortunately, I lack such an experience.

So ADH, you'd agree that I should leave it that insert is broken right now, right?

Is there anyone with any good leads on how to fix insertion?
