T60 Xtreme & 900s

Ok, so far so good.

Many thanks to Surgeon, Glitched and the rest of the gang -- job well done.

After installing the T60 25Xtreme, I noticed all the great tools in the /hack directory. After developing my own script to do the Fixup, I noticed I didn't need it -- the technology was already built in -- simply connect via serial, and type "touch /etc/SubTest" from the bash.

Wonderful so far.

Now the question that remains is how can I enable the 900s in the same, easy way? I'm assuming that there is a method, since the 900s.tcl and mvchannels.tcl are both part of the 25Xtreme image, locaed in the hack/locals folder...

Looking at the rc.sysinit, I don't see any code that checks for the existence of a file and then invokes the 900s.tcl.

I am hoping for something as easy as the method to do the FixSub/SubTest.

Or do I have to edit the rc.sysinit file manually?

You actually have to insert a command line in the rc.sysinit for those.

I was hoping that wouldn't be the answer...

Hey Surgeon/Glitched -- how about a new version that would offer the same functionality as the SubTest option, but for the 900s?

Even better -- how about a version that prompts you whether or not you would like these two options enabled during the setup phase?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would like to see this...

PS. I'm sure you did what you did for a reason -- like keeping the honest folks honest... That's cool -- I've got a life sub on two of my units and I believe in being honest. So, if you won't add a prompt to enable the SubTest furing setup, how about the 900s? (without manually editing the rc.sysint) I can't image there is anything that could possibly be wrong/dishonest with adding 900s.

I'm not sure what Surgeon is doing, I hear he was out of town. But Glitched and I are attempting to make a version 2.0 of our combined images with all the goodies we can possibly add.

Stay tuned.
